BUPSOUL creates jewelry and hair accessories inspired by music and musical instruments. Materials vary depending on each piece’s design, structure, and intended use. Please refer to the individual product page for the exact materials used in your selected item.
Current BUPSOUL designs may feature stainless steel, S925 sterling silver, silver, metal alloys, cellulose acetate, cubic zirconia, crystal, natural crystal stones, aventurine, top-grain leather, and resin. Certain metal components may feature rhodium plating, 18K gold plating, rhodium-plated copper, or gold-plated copper finishes.
The main body, earring posts, clip-on fittings, chains, hair-clip bases, and decorative elements of a product may be made from different materials. If you have a known sensitivity to a particular material, please review the relevant product description carefully or contact BUPSOUL before purchasing.
General Care
To help keep your BUPSOUL piece in good condition for as long as possible:
-
Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, lotion, cosmetics, alcohol, and household cleaning products.
-
Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, or entering a sauna.
-
Apply skincare products, makeup, perfume, and hair products before putting on your jewelry.
-
After wearing, gently wipe the piece with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
-
Avoid dropping, knocking, pulling, twisting, or forcibly bending delicate components.
-
Store each piece separately to prevent scratching, friction, tangling, and damage.
-
Make sure the item is completely dry before storing it.
-
Keep it away from moisture, high temperatures, and prolonged direct sunlight.
Unless specifically stated on the individual product page, BUPSOUL products should not be considered fully waterproof, permanently tarnish-resistant, or guaranteed never to fade.
Stainless Steel
Some necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, and chains are made from stainless steel.
Stainless steel is durable and suitable for everyday wear. However, prolonged exposure to sweat, moisture, salt, perfume, and cleaning products may still affect its surface finish or other connected components.
We recommend that you:
-
Wipe away sweat and moisture after wearing.
-
Avoid prolonged contact with water.
-
Do not use abrasive cloths, wire brushes, or strong metal cleaners.
-
Store chains flat or loosely arranged to prevent tangling and pulling.
S925 Sterling Silver and Silver
Some rings, necklaces, earrings, and earring posts are made from S925 sterling silver or silver.
Silver may naturally oxidize or darken when exposed to air, moisture, sweat, or sulfur-containing environments. This is a natural characteristic of silver and does not necessarily indicate a product defect.
For unplated silver pieces, you may gently use a soft polishing cloth specifically designed for silver.
For silver pieces with rhodium-plated or 18K gold-plated finishes, do not use a silver-polishing cloth, toothpaste, metal polish, or other abrasive products, as they may wear away the plated surface.
We recommend storing silver pieces separately in a sealed pouch, jewelry bag, or jewelry box to reduce prolonged exposure to air and moisture.
Plated and Colored Metal Finishes
Some BUPSOUL pieces feature rhodium plating, 18K gold plating, rhodium-plated copper, or gold-plated copper finishes.
The appearance and longevity of a plated surface may be affected by:
-
Frequency of wear;
-
Friction between metal surfaces;
-
Sweat and individual skin chemistry;
-
Perfume, skincare products, and cosmetics;
-
Moisture, humidity, and storage conditions.
The color or shine of a plated surface may gradually change with regular wear. To help preserve the finish, avoid prolonged contact with water and excessive friction.
Do not use:
-
Silver-polishing cloths;
-
Metal polish;
-
Toothpaste;
-
Alcohol;
-
Ultrasonic cleaners;
-
Strong jewelry-cleaning solutions.
For routine cleaning, gently wipe the piece with a soft, dry cloth.
Cellulose Acetate Hair Accessories
Some violin-, piano-, guzheng-, pipa-, erhu-, and guitar-inspired hair accessories are made from cellulose acetate.
Cellulose acetate naturally features variations in pattern, translucency, and sheen. Because each piece may be cut from a different part of the material, the color distribution and pattern may vary slightly from one item to another. These variations are a natural feature of cellulose acetate and make each piece subtly unique.
To care for cellulose acetate pieces:
-
Keep them away from high temperatures, open flames, and prolonged direct sunlight.
-
Do not leave them inside a hot vehicle or another high-temperature environment.
-
Avoid contact with alcohol, perfume, hairspray, and strong cleaning products.
-
Do not forcibly bend the instrument-shaped body or decorative components.
-
Protect them from prolonged pressure or heavy objects.
-
Gently remove dust and fingerprints with a soft, dry cloth.
Do not clean cellulose acetate with alcohol wipes or solvent-based products.
Hair Clips and Metal Hardware
Different hair accessories may use metal clasps, duckbill clips, stainless-steel clip bases, or other types of hardware.
When opening or closing a hair accessory, hold and operate the intended clasp or mechanism. Do not pull directly on the instrument-shaped decoration, cubic zirconia details, chains, or suspended components.
Please take care to:
-
Avoid opening claw clips beyond their natural range.
-
Do not use the decorative instrument body as the pressure point when opening the clip.
-
Do not force the clip to hold more hair than its mechanism can comfortably support.
-
Release the clasp before removing the accessory instead of pulling it directly from the hair.
-
Close the clip before storing it.
-
Keep heavy objects away from the teeth, spring, clasp, and decorative structure.
The holding strength of a hair accessory may vary depending on hair thickness, texture, volume, and the way it is worn.
Cubic Zirconia and Crystal
Some BUPSOUL pieces feature cubic zirconia, crystal, or natural crystal stones.
These decorative elements should be protected from strong impact, scratching, and pulling. For routine cleaning, gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
Do not:
-
Soak them in water for prolonged periods;
-
Use alcohol or chemical cleaners;
-
Use an ultrasonic cleaner;
-
Clean them with a hard brush;
-
Pull on mounted or suspended decorative elements.
Natural crystal stones may vary in color, pattern, transparency, and internal characteristics. These natural variations do not necessarily indicate a defect.
Aventurine
Some pipa-inspired pieces feature aventurine.
As a natural stone, aventurine may vary in color, pattern, transparency, and internal characteristics. No two pieces will be completely identical.
To care for aventurine:
-
Protect it from drops and impact.
-
Avoid friction against sharp or hard objects.
-
Keep it away from perfume, alcohol, and chemical cleaners.
-
Gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
-
Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner.
Top-Grain Leather
Some accessories include top-grain leather components.
Leather may gradually develop changes in color and texture with use. This is a natural characteristic of genuine leather.
We recommend that you:
-
Avoid prolonged contact with water and sweat.
-
Do not clean it with alcohol or wet wipes.
-
If it becomes wet, gently absorb the moisture with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally in a cool, ventilated place.
-
Do not use a hair dryer or other direct heat source.
-
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
-
Avoid prolonged friction against dark-colored or color-transferring materials.
Resin Guitar Picks
Some earrings in the Music Festival Collection feature functional resin guitar picks that may also be used for playing.
The resin surface may develop marks through regular friction, scratching, or actual musical use. If the pick is used to play an instrument, surface wear resulting from that use should be considered normal.
To care for resin guitar picks:
-
Keep them away from high temperatures and open flames.
-
Avoid excessive bending.
-
Store them separately from sharp objects.
-
Do not use alcohol or corrosive cleaning products.
-
Gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth after use.
Colored Resin Detailing
Some pieces use colored resin detailing to create decorative accents.
Avoid scratching the colored surface with sharp objects. Do not clean it with alcohol, chemical solvents, abrasive cloths, or hard brushes.
Dust and fingerprints may be removed gently with a soft, dry cloth.
Earring Posts, Clip-On Fittings, and Skin Sensitivity
Depending on the design, earrings may feature S925 sterling silver posts, rhodium-plated copper clip-on fittings, stainless steel, metal alloys, or other hardware. Please refer to the relevant product page for the exact materials used.
Even when a design uses S925 sterling silver posts, it cannot be guaranteed to suit every person with sensitive skin. Individual reactions to metals, plated surfaces, and other materials may vary.
If you have a known sensitivity to a specific metal or material, please contact us before purchasing. Stop wearing the item immediately if you experience persistent redness, itching, pain, swelling, or other discomfort.
Natural Changes Over Time
Jewelry and accessories may gradually develop normal signs of wear depending on how often they are used, how they are worn, and how they are stored. These may include:
-
Changes in metal shine;
-
Natural oxidation of silver;
-
Gradual wear to plated surfaces;
-
Fine scratches on cellulose acetate;
-
Changes in the color or texture of leather;
-
Playing or friction marks on resin guitar picks.
Proper care can help slow these changes, but it cannot prevent them completely.
